Ocean Lava Triathlon Cancelled

The eleventh edition of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon, scheduled for the 24th of October 2020, has finally had to be canceled due to the current health situation caused by the Covid19 in the Canary Islands.

It has not been an easy decision for the organizers of Ocean Lava Lanzarote, a race which has been a big part of the sports calendar of the island of Lanzarote throughout the last years, but right now the safety and health of everyone comes first.

"Over the last few weeks, a lot of work has been done on the protocols of safety and health involved in an event like this. We have looked above and beyond in order to find a way to celebrate our event on October 24, always in agreement with the measures established by the Spanish Triathlon Federation.”

But finally, the organizers of the Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon and the authorities who participate in the development of the event, have determined the suspension of this eleventh edition as the ideal circumstances did not exist for its celebration.

Today it is more important to continue taking action to combat a pandemic that has disrupted plans worldwide.

Stay healthy, keep training and live the moment with a smile.
